Reel Repair Desparation

Recommended Posts

Looking for advice on a reliable and very good reel repair person. I have a bunch of Garcia 6500s and 5500s that have chronic issues. Some won't reliably engage and some have an issue with the drag where the reel handle turns when drag is taken out. I've had most of them to repair shops in the past but the problem usually returns. I've tried to tear them down myself and can't fix them. Do any of you know where I can send them to get reliable repair? Thanks much in advance!

Might want to consider repairing them, selling them, and getting a used/new curado 300e or 300ej off e b a y. I've been using 6600's for years and now I won't even touch them after getting that curado.

You could also send them directly to pure fishing in Iowa. They've been decent to me. That said, I found myself sending so much stuff back to Abu I switched to Shimano. Haven't had to get those fixed! wink
