Lottery or Hunters Choice??????

When can we find out if the area we hunt is lottery or hunters choice?? I see the deadline for antlerless permits is Sept 6, but when can I find out if we need to even apply? I searched the HSOforum and couldnt find anything for 2013. I am in 172 and we had lottery last year. Hoping for hunters choice this year.

I'm thinking the regs normally get released end of July/beginning of August.

The three biggest things IMO to use to try and predict what your area will be are the past Winter, what is was last season, and what is has been historically(normally.)

Last winter was tough, but last Fall the DNR was generally tight with doe permits. I'd say most areas will be what ever they normally are this year. Or maybe there will be a need to be tight with the doe permits again?
