Unlinking Lowrance Units Temporarily?

Myrt

Question

I have a lx27c on transom networked to a lx 520c on my I pilot, networked so they only use one transducer at a time , if I would like to use them separately , is this a menu option I am not seeing, or something like disconnecting just the Ethernet port?, can I use the sonar separately while still networking the mapping(GPS)???

yeah, that option I am familiar with, but it only lets the units run off the front transducer together, or the back transducer together, which is the way I like it most of the time, just not sure if I can run them independently when I want to

The menu option is "sonar source", and you can switch it using either unit, but it switches both units together, not independently.(the front and back either read off the trolling motor or the transom transducer, that's how it was set up for me, that way I could look straight ahead to the front unit while driving my tiller)

I unhooked the Ethernet and then each unit only showed itself as the sonar source, of course I wasn't in the water when I did that , so will try next time out. Newer models like yours probably allow for linking and independent sonar use without disconnecting the Ethernet?

Myrt, I am guessing you are right that it was "added" as a feature to the HDS units and your's may not have it. I dont have experience with the model you have since my previous units were not networked at all so I never played around with it.
