Coots Unlimited
Anybody eat snipe out there? We shot a couple of snipe this weekend and cleaned them up - but all the duck meat got mixed in the marinade bowl and we lost track of which pieces they were. Didn't get sick yet, but just curious if anyone else bothers with cleaning/eating the little runts.

Flashman
Thought about shooting some of the little buggers but never did. We saw a lot of them around us. We had a bunch of Rails around too, they tempted us but Ike said they don't taste very good so we decided against it.
CornPirateKiller
My group takes them when we can. Not much meat on them, but it's pretty good... similar to dove. Usually breast them out, wrap a strip of bacon around the meat, pin with a toothpick and grill. Good stuff.
dead eye blind
Our party has had good luck with marinating them and then grilling them with using their pointed bills as skewers like kabobs. Let me know if you try it.
Perch Jerker
Wrap them in 1/2 slice of bacon on a skewer or thick toothpick, marinade in soy/sauce & brown sugar, and grill or broil them. They are excellent!PJ
Coots Unlimited
Hey dead eye blind, Skewered meat on their beaks, eh? I challenge you to put your "snipe meat" where your mouth is. The next time I see you, I want to see your culinary creation and watch you actually eat it.
