Android gmail issues

Ok this one is driving me nuts.  Some pictures that I receive via Gmail on my Android phone, I’m not able to do anything with them.  In other words, I can’t save, share, or download.  For example I got one this morning that had three pictures attached.  2 of the 3 acted like they should.  I click on the picture, a thumbnail appears briefly and I see the blue status bar scrolling, then the full picture appears.  At that point I have full options to zoom, share and save, etc.  The other 1 of the three when I click on it, I it opens like the other ones, but the thumbnail appears and the blue status bar just keeps scrolling and scrolling and all the menu options are grayed out. I’ve let it do this for up to 5 minutes with no change. This happens randomly with certain pictures and I don’t know why.   Up until today I had chalked it up to a conflict with the sender, but now this one I received today, 2 of the 3 pics are fine. So its not the sender.

I looked through my emails and any attached pics would render and allow me to save/save all/share/share all, pinch zoom, etc. Have you updated Gmail lately? A new version just came out recently.

Yes, I have the newest version. I think it might be phone specific related to the RAZR Maxx.

could it be something on the senders end with the picture?

Mine did the same thing on a pic. I have no explanation. New version too. I just used the default email app on my phone to save it. Hopefully just a bug they fix soon.
