LOST 1 BAG OF DECOYS

Well we had a great opener until I went to set the decoys Sunday and found I left my bag of decoys at the spoy we hunted Saturday.It was north of Braham at "Rice Lake" if anyone happened to find them it would be great if you let me know.

On that note how many other have people forgot stuff only to never be found again ?

Used my Remington duck hunter's knife working on my gun when it jammed. I thought I put it back in my shell box...

I must have laid it in the weeds & mashed it into the mud or something. I couldn't find it.

I lost my big mag lite last year on a duck hunt north of Detroit Lakes...

also, my brother left his lanyard with calls and a band on the other side of a marsh last duck season. once the thing froze up in december, we walked all the way across, dug under some snow where we had been sitting, and found them....in perfect condition!

have also lost a few decoys over the years but nothing major.

I have lost mag lites and two way radios. Usually it is me dropping something into the marsh and by the time I figure it out it is about impossible to find.

Somebody on one of these sites mentioned putting your name on the bottom of all your decoys. I think that is a great idea. It not only helps you keep yours seperate from your buddies, but I don't know if I would want to hunt with a guy that has decoys with somebody else's name and address written across the entire bottom of a decoy.

I have my name on my decoys, but I do have some decoys with a different name on them. My father-in-law gave them to me & I know he didn't steal them, he bought them on a garage sale. I believe the name on the dekes did match up with the name on the mailbox at the garage sale. They're crappy decoys & have hot glue all over the bb holes in a few of them, but they helped make my spread a little bigger.

I've lost a few in a beaver pond before. I don't know if the beavers stole them or the neighbors, they were all on the water when they disappeared.

I lost a bag of goose decoys going up 35 north--hit the semi behind me and he ran them over. I lose a lot of things because I make safe places for them to sit and than I forget where that safe place was. I forgot my boat plug once and did not realize it until I was in the middle of the lake. I forgot my gun at home, I have forgotten my shells, my license ( very expensive learning lesson), and most importantly if anybody sees my wife let her know how to get a hold of me.

I would be very careful making assumptions that people are thievs just because they have decoys with someone elses name on them.

I personally have about 8 different names, initials, paint colors or whatever in my spread. All were aquired legally through sales and gifts. Maybe I should paint all of the bottoms one color so someone does not think I stole them!!

I lost my wedding ring last year, on the Sunday of the opener.... I did not notice it was gone until the 2nd qtr of the Vikings game that day... I think I lost it while retrieving decoys in the muck.... Quick piece of advice, do not spend 500 bucks on a platinum wedding ring, when a 200 white gold, that looks the same, will do...

I have been doing the name under the decoys for year. The funny part is I hunted with a guy and while throwing out his decoys I noticed the name on them was not his and he said he bought them from the guy. Funny part is I knew the guy and knew he would never sell him. I went and told the guy I found his stolen decoy's and he got the sheriff and politly asked for them back. The other guy moved

Yeah,I have my name on all of them.Guess a guy should include a phone number.Never thought of that.Never planned on forgeting them thou either.
