Vermilion or LOTW?

Agree with Lotw. As mentioned it is a factory! I live 40 minutes from vermillion but would take Lotw any day of the week over vermillion. Biggest factor will be weather obviously vermill is fishable in any condition if your on the state side of Lotw wind can screw your weekend in a hurry. You should also see more and bigger fish on Lotw with a better chance of a trophy.

I've never fished the Big V but it's true what they ay about LOTW. If the main lake gets too rough, both Zipple and Four Mile Bay will get you good fishing, especially in that time frame mentioned by the OP. Many a time over the years I've been forced to stay in the bay and have not been let down

I know what the question was, but Rainy ought to be in this conversation. Rainy for walleyes is great at this time of year and not nearly as weather dependent as the US-LOW. Plus you get a great smallmouth bass bite as well.

I was thinking about this also. I am guessing it will be a flip of the coin when the time comes.
