I replaced the bendix drive motor in my 2005 44 sportsman, that the dealer said was bad. all i get when i tun the key is a click on the battery, nothing on the starter. is the next step the starter it self? the drive gear was locked up so i thought that woul dfix it .

Do you have a battery tender on it? I have one on mine and was having the same problem this past winter, couldn't figure it out. I took both positive and ground connections off and cleaned them and still nothing. Then one day I decided to disconnect the tender and haven't had a problem with it since. For some reason it must not have been getting a good connection through the battery posts with the tender on it. Worth checking out if you have a tender on it.
