Small Prime Rib Roast

Recommended Posts

Cut off the end of a prime rib that we had for Christmas. Wouldn't fit in the pan. Thinking of grilling it tonite. Any suggestions on method on gas grill? Indirect I'm sure with the marbling. But any other suggestions?

I'm guessing at the size but less than 2 pounds or so I'd cut into basically two ribeye's and grill them like a normal ribeye with direct heat. If for some reason it's 4 pounds or so I'd put in oven for 22 minutes at 500 degrees and then turn the oven off and take out two hours later without opening oven. That's how I make prime rib and usually I have about 5 pounders. The formula is 5.5 minutes per pound at 500 and then 2 hours with oven off.
