I think next year I will go for Muzzle Loader season. My Buddy and his wife didn't get drawn either and they have been outfitters for 25 years in NM. There is no preferance system in place. I called him when and he said quite a few of his hunters had called and said they didn't get picked either. Looks like a short season for them.

My girlfriend and her dad put in this year for the first time and both drew. Not sure what the draw odds are for the area that they put in for, but they are pretty excited. Doing a backcountry hunt through an outfitter that had 100% success during their season last year and bulls scored 342 on average. Am I jealous.... slightly. Oh well... get to bow hunt elk in Montana with my dad for the first time. Can't wait.
