With all the ice, has anyone heard anything about delaying opener?

Why?

Ice will be gone by then in the metro.

I definitely do not want the season changed. There will be fishing opportunities I have never encountered before. Weather that's good or bad I have no idea.

Someone said they've already pushed it back in some places. The reasoning is that northerns typically spawn within 2 weeks after ice out. With ice out so close to opener they may do it to protect the spawning fish. I expect the same for bass and probably muskies as well.

Would love to hear from anyone who knows anything else.
