Rainy River Sturgeon ?

I was reading a post elsewhere about a recommendation on 3/0 hooks.

That's way too small for me.

yep, 8/0 to 10/0 for me and LOTS of bait.

Has anyone used the Gamakatsu Big River Bait hooks? I picked up a pack of 9/0 and they can hold one heck of a lot of bait.

Are they too big?

Yes IMO those are too big. Big difference between a 8/0 octopus circle and a Big River

We use those big river hooks with 10" bullheads and foot long suckers.

Dtro you haven't had any issues with the Big River Bait hooks? I heard from someone that they were known for consistently being too weak on big fish, so I never tried them. I do like the look/size of them though.
