Evenflow
How many people plan on getting out this weekend for one last duck hunt? And will you be hunting over water, or a field?I'll be south of the cities sitting in a corn field this weekend looking for greenheads falling from the sky. I haven't been duck hunting in a while (because of deer, pheasant, etc..) but I'm as excited for this weekend as I was for opener.Good luck this weekend!!!Evenflow------------------It's all just theory till you hit the water. Guest
All the lakes opened back up again here, so I'll be over water. Sounds like a storm coming in so that should push down any remaining birds. Might be a good last hurrah.------------------>"////=<[email protected]N.P.A.A. # 841www.marcum.com

IceHawk
I plan on giving the Sauk river one last try but the birds have been chased lately so there skittish. With this front comeing things might be interesting, hopefully I get one last crack at some Northern birds.
bmc
Good news for you guys south of Grand Rapids. The MP&L station in Cohasset has some hot water ponds that have kept the "tough" canada geese and northern mallards around. I'm not sure on numbers, but on the river in a rice patch today I saw about 100 mallards and 50 or so geese. We still have some birds around, so it could be a good last Hurrah!bmc
Riverratpete
I do believe there is a very large lady waiting in the wings to start singin this weekend by the looks of the weather forecast which can only mean one thing.... time to go duck hunting 1 more time this year! Planning on hitting the north metro somewhere on Sat Am for a couple hours and see what happens- thats if water isn't hard by then. Then it's time to start getting ready for hard water season again, she just keeps on rolling from one fun thing to another...god I love this place. Roosterslayer05
I hunted SW MN and dident fire a shot friday, some mallerds still around but they were in large flocks and they knew where they wanted to go. I shot at 4 ducks saturday and hit three, a hen shoveler, a hen buffel head and a drake mallerd. Preatty slow. I dident decoy a single duck, they all were very decoy shy, even with my flying decoy out they wouldent decoy.
