hi i have a 14 foot aluminum row boat with 25 hp motor. when i bought it someone put in a floor in the 2 middle spots of the bench seats. it was nice however at the time i only had a 6 hp motor so i took it out for weight. now i have a bigger motor i weighed everything plywood, steel, 2x4s, etc it is 60# total will this cause a huge effect on the boat handling. i also had a 15 hp on it ran great but with no one in the front it would hop up and down some. i thought with this weight distributed evenly this would help with a bigger motor. any thought yes no thanks

Take a kid for a ride, put him/her where the floor goes, and then you will know wink

I bet you won't notice it much with the bigger motor, 60# isn't much. I bet you could make the floor better/lighter though, you mention 2x4's and steel... yikes! How about cedar 2x2's and alum. angle?.... just mentioning. Good luck!

I have a 14' Lund with a floor and a 25 horse on the back. With just myself in the boat I need a little weight in the front to keep it down but with 2 people it works good. I can get 25 MPH pretty easily on a calm day but if when I have three people in the boat I don't even bother opening up the motor. May as well troll. laugh
