04 Bonneville gauges

My sons gauges dont always work on his bonneville. I heard that you can have the guage cluster replaced? Is this something I can do myself or have to bring it in?

I would really think it is something you could handle by searching out your problem on a typical search engine and save some $

Do the tap test. Make a fist, hit the top of the dash above the instrument cluster. Does the gauges stop/start working? You can check the connectors going to the I.C. but if it acts up with the tap test it may need a new module. This module may need programing by the dealer as well.

Tap test is the first thing I do.

Once the plastic trim in front of the cluster is moved its a matter of removing four screws and unplugging a connector or two. Contact your local dealer for a price on a reman. They are typically in stock or only a day or two away.
