Cooter
Please refresh my memory on the best spinnerbait design for fishing wood. I can never keep track of short arm/long arm, blade design, etc. Thanks!
RK
Hiya - For hard cover like wood or rushes, long arms work better. When a bait hits a branch or rush stalk, the arm rides down whatever you hit until it clears the object, then the bait tips back upright. With a long arm, the hook usually clears the obstruction before it tips back upright. With a short arm, it tips upright just in time to bury the hook in a rush stalk or branch.Baits like the HiJacker spinnerbaits Jack Shriver makes are really built or fishing rushes, and work great around wood too. Rad Dogs are good as well. Pearon's Grinders, as great as they are in weeds, are lousy in rushes because they're more of a short arm design.HTHRK
