UFC 158

Anyone else excited for this? GSP vs Diaz is long overdue. I hope GSP finishes him. I really don't care for the Diaz brothers at all, and Nick is definately the worst. Huge contrast in class. GSP has always been a total class act vs Diaz who shows no respect for anyone or anything. Condit-Hendricks should be a great fight too.

Small world- I'm leaving for LOTW tomorrow morning! GSP wanted this fight to hurt on Diaz. I'm looking forward to it. I assume if Hendricks wins, he will get the next shot. However there is always the chance of the GSP vs Anderson Silva superfight first.

Have never been a Diaz fan but he has really grown on me im kinda sick of GSP and his fighting style all those Greg Jackson fighters are boring just trying to win by decision, at least Diaz wants to throw down.

I've been watching UFC since it's inception and have watched most of the fighters come up, including the Diaz brothers. They are alright with some of the fighters, but when they get in with a real hustler that doesn't fall for the Diaz game, look what happens.

In his last fight, Nate got hammered on the whole fight, he never won a round, never came close. When Nick fought Condit, he got his a$$ handed to him big time. GSP is abetter fighter then both of them and I believe he hits harder then either, thats just my opinion of course, but he's definately the better all around fighter. I think GSP will surprise everybody and choke Diaz out....I don't think Nick will tap though, he'll go to sleep. I think it's gonna be a good one though and I expect GSP to work Nick over from start to finish.

Now for the kicker....Just about all the fights I've called in the last 3-4 UFC fights, I got em wrong! Geeze.

I'm sure it had something to do with the people he fought? Condit isn't gonna lay there and let you hit em, thats for sure! And I would have to think that with those high caliber fighters, you don't want to be throwing caution to the wind and start flailing away, only to get your foot twisted around backwards several times, your arm bent to look like a crooked letter, or get choked until your head looks like an over ripe beet!

GSP has pretty good stand up and he hits hard enough? I'm looking to see some good action between those two because Diaz isn't gonna back up, thats for sure!

I think that GSP handled Condit pretty easy and I think that Condit handled Diaz pretty easily, so whats that tell ya? Nothin I would guess? Different fighters require different types of fight strategy.

I agree that George hasn't been finishing fights, but that fight with Condit was a great fight! Both fighters were beat up and bloody. I also agree that Jackson's camp seems to favor winning over exciting fights.

I think he is going to be very agressive with Diaz. He really wants to put a hurt on Nick and I hope he does.

I'm looking forward to Condit/Hendricks too. I like Hendricks, but he has never faught anyone as good as Carlos. I like both of these guys. I might give Carlos the edge? It should be exciting!

Mr Diaz may have stuck his foot in his mouth this time. After suffering his beatdown, in the post fight press conference he states he has never paid taxes. Nothing like challenging Uncle Sam to a fight!

Hendricks hand injury isn't real serious. He will be ready for the fight. I would say Ellenburger's next fight should be against Diaz, but who knows. Condit and Rory McDonald have unfinished business.

I swear when the line up for UFC 158 1st came out a couple months ago, Condit was supposed to fight McDonald, and Hendricks was going to fight Ellenburger. I wonder what happened there?

As good as Rory McDonald might be, his 2 best wins are against blown up 155 pounders. I'd like to see him get a convincing win against a legit welterweight.

Assuming Diaz doesn't go to jail, I think the best matchup for him would be Dan Hardy. Should make for an exciting fight.

Rory hurt his neck during training and had to pull out of the fight, so Condit faught Hendricks and Marquart stepped up to fight Ellenburger.

BJ Penn.com is reporting that GSP faught with an injured achilles and was feeling sick the day of the fight.

    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
    • Sketti...  not out of a jar either!
    • Lol yeah I watched that
