Caliper Bolt Head Stripped

Recommended Posts

Use the correct 6pt socket every time from the beginning ;-)

Or, just bring it over across the street tomorrow between 9:15 and 11 and I can probably get it out for you. Make sure you buy a replacement for it prior to coming over.

You could cut a slot in the top. I know you don't want to put heat to it because of the rubber boot there but it might only take a tiny bit.

Yeah I was going to torch it but was concerned about the boot.

Thanks for the offer, I might take you up on that. I don't think I can make it happen tomorrow though. Maybe sometime later this week or next.

Thanks again for your help, just needed a good welder and a BFH I guess.

Stupid winter and salt....

LOL. Yep. No problem. I couldn't live without a welder or BFH. Pc of cake. Would have really been faster and easier if the lift wasn't taken! Too old for that crouchin down/laying down/creeper garbage. ;-)

grin LOL @ me

It only took me an hour (and finally the help of the Google) to figure out the piston turns back in and doesn't push.

But before then a couple of tools might have taken flight.

I like the people that you tell that their rear brakes require replacing, "Oh Yeah I'll take care of that." Next week it will be back in the shop....

No offense meant tword you btw.
