Curious about Eagle Lake this Winter

Just curious.

This Winter for ice fishing was terrible for me as far as getting out there. I live less than 1/2 mile from the Eagle Lake access in Maple Grove and usually get out there at least a few times since its so close. I drive by the lake almost every day and noticed this year very few houses compared to other years. Usually there are a few "cities" out there of houses. Not this year. Was the ice just bad? The fishing bad? Too much snow ( I dont think that was the case ). I am just curious. Thanks for any input from those that fished the lake. I may also post this on the Metro thread as well...if you see it there.
