Gordie
Lots of homework meaning asking permission to landowners for hunting and the crows seem to get educated very quickly around here.Do some scouting and you should do pretty good, the state land seem to get hit pretty good but its still worth giving a shot.Good Luck and let us know how you do. bigcloud
I have quite a bit of private land I can hunt, if I scout and see tracks can I set up during the day or will I have to hunt at night? Any caller suggestions. I don't want to hunt with dogs. Thanks
ChompChomp_YANK
I got a Fox Pro it holds 30 sounds. Mine has about 20 coyote/distress and the rest are crow sounds. Works great

simple1
Am I correct in reading the MN regs that coyotes may not be taken on WMAs after the last day of February? I read it several times and it states you can only take them from 09/01 until the last day of February. Any input would be nice. I have an email into the DNR also. ThanksSimple1
monstermoose78
I have a foxpro and calls the crows in very well. As for fox and coyotes I have called in one fox so far, but did not get a shot off. I hope that grayfox on here chimes in because he seems to have great success. There is pletty of coyotes around elk river area. Good luck with hunting. stizoler
Anyone know if you can shoot crows on WMAs right now?
monstermoose78
Depends on the WMA you want to hunt.
Slab_Supper
Can you explain what you mean?
monstermoose78
Check the hunting regs book. It lists WMA that are open for what and when. Each one has its own rules.
rockman
For the OP, fox season closes on March 15,2013 for the year, until fall. The first crow season closes on March 31,2013,but re-opens in July for the second season.
rockman
Anyone know if you can shoot crows on WMAs right now? Regs. book states you can hunt crows on a WMA during the open season for crow hunting, so you have until the 31st of March to hunt for the first 2013 crow season. stizoler
Thanks for the input. I was just thinking it was odd to close WMAs for coyotes and still have it open season for crows. I guess crows must be considered protected and coyotes unprotected?
