So in comparison this would be like a "Rug" ( Golden) winning the National Retriever Championship. If so and this dog is a breedable dog, the owner has a gold mine in his pocket. Congrats to the owners and trainers.....

I'm guessing that would be a somewhat comparable analogy. Yup, his stud fee just went up. There is a setter jackpot for the next setter to win the national. It was over $16,000. Put on top of that the $20,000 that I think goes to the winner and there's a few $$$ floating around. This dog will likely go down in the books as one of the all time great all-age trial setters. If they don't immediately retire him he should have a lot of winning ahead of him.

Make no mistake though, the setters belong there. They are every bit as good as the pointers. There are just so few of them that the odds of winning are very slim. Every year out of the ~30+ dogs running there are 3-5 setters.
