Panfish for Kids - Tonka

Looking to take the kids out this weekend for some catch & release panfishing - anyone kind enough to share a Tonka hot spot? Kids get bored very fast, would love to provide an hour or 2 of fun for them. Thanks!

if i were you id try some of the smaller lakes instead of tonka, there is alot of water to cover out there, but if you have to go to tonka just about any weed line off shore will probably produce some fish.

We had great luck a couple of weeks ago in Wayzata Bay picking up little perch. I had my 10 yr old stepdaughter along and she was having a blast.

Find some weeds on Grey's Bay - good place for little sunnies with the occasional slimer... The perch on Wayzata are way too small to be any fun IMHO.

Yeah, bring some tip-ups if you've got em or pick a few up if you can afford them. Fish one hole for pannies and the other with a tip-up for pike or whatever. Could increase your chances. I know the kids are so thrilled with pike on tip-ups that it's the main thing they want to do now while they run around on the ice. Heck. I like to do that.

Crystal Bay is always hot. Normally, they are stacked in there.
