Fishing Realtor
Checked the state webpage and found that I drew for the 10-day non-res season! Problem is I've only banged on roosters there, so I'm not sure where to go. Any thoughts as to time of year or particuliar regions? Probably will just focus on ducks - divers and/or greenheads, doesn't matter. Extremely excited to scout a new area cause No. Dak. was getting to be a bit crowded... myzee13
Fishing Realtor, the area around Dsmet is about as good as it gets! unfortunitely, myself and my buddies got a 3-day-NE zone hunt instead of the 10-day state wide. there's plenty of public land to hunt around Dsmet. most c-stores in the area have maps.hope i helped! J Rookie K
Hi, I hunted 8 days there last year. The first few were inbetween Souix Falls and Mitchell, north of 90. We shot a mix of puddlers and divers. The second set of days were around Lake City, Waubay, and Watertown. This time it was mostly divers, but that is fine by me. Get the SD hunting atlas, [free], it has all the public land, and there is a ton. Ive been huntin MN ducks for 16 yrs now and it dont even come close! This year we drew a 3 day tag, so I think we will start in Lake City for 1 day. Then down to Waubay or Watertown, not sure yet. Im all revd up, Good Luck n Good Shootin![This message has been edited by J Rookie K (edited 07-22-2003).]

big_fish_guy
i heard it's been pretty dry out there this year. Which is good news for us western minn hunters. It would be nice to see the birds move back over this way in the flyway.
