I need a new gun.

I am looking for the best 12 ga. Semi auto out there. I am not parcel to any one brand and would like your opions. I want to shoot 2-3/4in. 1 oz. loads with 30gr. of powder. Will they eject in the new 3.5" mags?

why dont you wanna shoot the 3.5's? as far as the best 12 gauge in my oppinion that would be the super black eagle from benelli. beautiful gun. smooth. about 1200 but its worth it.

Well what are you looing for a pump or auto? For a pump you can't go wrong with a 870, or a browning BPS. You can get both of those guns in either 3" or 3.5". As far as an auto the SBE, the new berreta extrema, or a browning gold hunter are all great. I don't know about the winchester super x2 I've heard mixed results.

my vote still goes for the benelli. my hunting partners all shoot benelli and i love them. just cannt give up the big 10ga though when i get tired of that its benelli.

I also purchase a left handed benelli super black eagle two years ago. I love it. I have used it for trap/skeet/waterfowl/ and upland hunting for two full seasons now. It has performed flawlessly and is very easy to take apart and clean. What is nice about it is the fact that it will shoot 2 3/4" shells, 3", and 3.5" shells so as long as you have a 12 ga shell it will shoot it, which makes it a very versitile gun.

The negatives I would say are 1)The price - it is very expensive and is right around $1200 for the camo version. 2) The camo choices are limited and in my opinion ugly. (but you still need to get camo for the extra rust protection it gives.

Oh yea one more thing and maybe the most important is the "fit". Make sure the gun fits you and that it feels natural in you hand when you bring it up into shooting position. If not keep looking...

Just my two cents...

chow,
great advice with "fitting" here's a trick i learned a few years back how to know if a gun really fits you.
close your eyes, shoulder the gun..with your eyes closed, then open them. you will see if you are over, under, or to one side of the bead. this is a great tool for fitting yourself with a gun, and will help you become a much better shot. personnally, i do this with every gun i pick up in the store. a binelli might not fit you. definately go with something that fits.

My Berretta Extrema is one heck of a gun. It ejects all shells except trap loads, it might even eject them, I haven't tried. All I shoot now is 3.5" shells but be careful if you do shoot 3.5" shells because that is all you will shoot after you try them. And they don't kick your butt either out of the Extrema! Just my opinion!!

The Bennelli SBE is an awesome weapon IF you can shell out 12 bills. Berreta makes nice weapons, again if you have plenty o' bread. 870's are jam masters!!(not peanut butter) The best weapon for the average working class guy like myself and alot of other people is a Mossberg 835 Crown grade.
I think i paid 340 for this weapon.
It came with a 28" barrel w/interchangable choke seystem and a 24" slug barrel.
I have two other Mossys and NONE of them have failed to perform. I have waded through the swamps of hell w/these things.
Always FIRED, never jammed.
Watched a buddy of mine dunkin his in the swampwater toget a temporary "thaw" so he could keep shootin greanbeans! Do that with your $1200 Bennelli!? This 835 is tough, unbelievably reliable, and INEXPENSIVE!
It cycles through 2 3/4 to 3 1/2, all in differnt order in the magazine, with no probs.
I used to want one of them high buck weapons after looking at them and shooting them. They are very nice. Get your Visa card.
Price, quality, reliability, affordable - all in one. I want another MOSSY(synthetic shadowgrass)
It's like the poor kid across the tracks that nobody pays much attention. This kid was a great ball player, the best one on the north side. He led his team to the "North Side"world series and won. But nobody seemed to talk about it or care. The press didnt cover the game because they were busy covering the "South Side" world series and talking about how great Bennelli, the star player, was.
Like i said, I like those spendy weapons but give me an inexpensive, reliable, duckslayin' machine any day.

Final approach...landing gear down...TAKE EM!

Remington 11-87 SuperMag 3.5" is what I shoot and I love it!
Soft recoil, never jams, and nocks those giant Canada geese grave-yard-dead!
I use improved cylinder choke for all my shooting. The large shot like T's and BBB's hold a better pattern with IC choke and for close in over decoys for ducks using 2's the pattern is awsome.
Plus buy AMERICAN. Italy doesn't pay out unemployment checks to Americans!
