The quality of it is okay but I would change the lines. They are really fun when the fishes are biting. The kids would love it. Just drop the line down and wait for the tip to go down. Usually I put a split shot and minnow on. Its kinda like your dead-stick pole. I own 3 myself but other 2 goes to my buddies. Try it out see if you like it. Check out YouTube for some videos.

I have a few and love em. Some days all my keepers are caught with them. I did not change anything on them. COme with 4 pound line. Just make sure you tighten the wingnuts well when you set them up on the ice. My buddy had my rod fall in the hole because the nuts were loose.
