Remote auto start

Recommended Posts

I've had the flu the last few days so the car is on hold. The daughter that owned this car also just killed the washing machine and was the one to introduce the flu bug into the household. Have checked the all fuses both visually and with a multimeter.

These are known for broken wires at the switch. I do not feel/think the remote start is causing the issues. If you tear the dash apart on that side of the car you should see it. If you unplug it and it does the same thing it is not the remote starter. You are probably having security issues. The only thing to do is to rip it all apart and look at all of the connections up in the column and to make sure that the passlock wires are not broken anywhere. There is a way to test the passlock wires to make sure the switch is good but I would have to dig out a book to tell you how to do that. If you need someone to look at it feel free to PM me and I can come out to you.

This vehicle has the ignition in the dash. Dont start "ripping" into the column. There is no passlock wiring in the column.
