Big Volt Auger

I have one, haven't used it yet. But I chose it for our wheel house due to the blade style and the low RPM's. It will really help contain the shavings in the slush tub. I didn't want anything that spun fast enough to sling chips beyond the tub, trying to streamline the cleanup after drilling, keep the overall mess down.

I picked one up last year at the ice show and it would punch two holes then lose power. They ended up having some issues with the first style of blades as it was fast (to fast) and would rip right through the ice then flip a circuit. Strike Master sent us a different style of blade that was much more effective and I only had one chance to use it but it ran very nice.

Pro's: Length of Cord is nice and if its not long enough you can just grab a set of Jumper Cables and extend it. Runs smooth with the new blades they sent. I can punch quite a few holes off a deep cycle battery without problems (16 is the most I have tried so far).

Con's: I actually had more ice shavings then I expected. First time I ran it the entire house was full of shavings so I picked up a Catch Cover slush bucket and it worked great then. Pulled to hard at first with the blades they sent also.

When it quit a few times on LOW we put and old Strikemaster Mag 300 head on the Auger bit and we punched holes faster then any of us in the house had ever seen.

As a comparison two houses went up with us and we had 8 holes cut with the big volt vs 6 cut with an Eskimo Gas auger in less time.
