Does Everybody Know What Time It Is?

I have wired my entire un attached garage. I ran a cable from the houses main circuit board, to the garage, to a circuit breaker in the garage, then feed the wires around the rafters, and installed new outlets, and light sockets. To my surprise, as I was finishing up on the job, I was rather dumbfounded when I installed a light bulb in the first socket, and the light lit up. Yes, I wired the entire garage, all the outlets, and light fixtures with a hot circuit, and not once got a shock.

Maybe not Home Improvement related, but..

I use to race enduro races in my early 20's, and the week prior, I blew the engine in my car, and my car also got some major front suspension damage in that race as well. I found a different car to set up, pulled the engine, rebuilt it, swapped the trannies out, stripped the car down, I only had to test drive it, and install the roll cage in it, but it was Friday night about 11pm, and the race was on Saturday noon. I figured I better test drive it, to make sure it was mechanically ready to race, then I could weld in the new roll cage in the morning. Well on my test drive (I lived out in the county, and on gravel roads, this road was a field road, that was about 2 miles long) I got going about 70 on a curve, and rolled it. The roof was smashed down to the steering wheel, fenders were messed up pretty bad, actually torn off of the fronts.

Well after the long walk back home, my pit crew wasnt very amused. Any how, we spent the entire night swapping fenders from the old car, to the new car, got the roof somewhat up, and got the roll cage in, (Sure wish we would have done that before my test drive) got it loaded up on the trailer, and took about an hour nap, then off to the races. The race was a 1/4 mile track, 100 cars, for 100 laps. On lap 20, a guy got in behind me, spun me out, and another car got on the side of me and flipped my over. At this point is when I figured out, we forgot to put the seat belts back in. They stopped the race, flipped my car back over, towed it back in, and we installed a borrowed seat belt assy from another crew, but at this time, I was very dizzy, and puking my guts out, the ref wouldnt let me back into the race without an inspection from the ambulance crew, yep, I had a severe concussion, and was out for the race. But if I was willing to take a 15 lap penalty, I could have a substitute driver in for me. I needed the points, and finishing the race would put me in money for the year. So, one of my pit crew went in, and on lap 98, the car started on fire.

They stopped the race again to put out my car, and tow it off the track. Well after the race, and when it was time to load up, the car was smoking again, and it burst into flames again, this time the fire department has already left for the day, and we had everyone around running to go get their fire extinguishers, but when they showed back up, I just told them, leave it go, I am done racing this year anyway. That car was jinxed. I ended up missing out by 5 points to take home money that year, and if the car would have finished that race, I would have about broke even for the year, instead, that was the last race I raced in.

Kinda Tim Allen type story
