Dunnyboy
Just finished my new perm/port. Just need to put on some finishing touches; ie, numbers and reflectors. What should I use for the reflectors do you think, 2" reflective tape or bike reflectors?
MJ1657
That looks really nice. I like to use the tape.
Meat-Run
Nice house, what size is the hole and over all size of the house?ThxMR
Dunnyboy
The house is 4'x6' and is a plastic garden shed. I got it at Menards on sale for $260.00 The shed with the modifications weighs about #180 I think. The hole is 3' wide x 2' deep. I have to sit in the corner in order to feel like I am not going to fall in. The way it is set up you could fish two if you like each other. fishyspringer
This looks awesome! What kind of modifications did you have to do? I'm looking to build a angling shack about the same size. Thanks!
Dunnyboy
Thank you. I put a treated 1/2" plywood floor and 2x2" frame on the bottom. Then most of the things I did were to make it dark inside. I lined the whole inside with 1/4" inch fanfold insulation and then some 1/8" plywood paneling I found cheap at one of the big box stores. I needed to keep the weight down or I would have made it stronger. If you were going to use it for regular ice fishing you could just put together the shed, beef up the floor, cut some holes where you want them, maybe some carpet and you would be good to go. Keep in mind that I have not actually used this house yet so I do not know how it will hold up, It is pretty light and might even blow away on the ice, I might have to anchor it somehow. Good luck on the ice this year!

fishyspringer
Have you gotten this house out yet? How is is working out for you? Is the vinyl pretty thin and do you think it will crack easily? Also how did you attach it to the floor? Thanks!
