I have been invited to participate in a snow goose hunt in SD. Has anyone hunted in SD and know if SD requires non-residents to show proof of a hunter's safety certificate to buy a license? I can't find my card, but I'm sure I can contact someone in MN and obtain the info...
Thanks.

All you need is your driver's license to purchase you snow goose license. Think the cost is $45 for non-res. Call ahead to where you will be buying your license to make sure the place has them - checked several places last year before finally finding a hardware store that had the non-res spring light goose licenses. Talk about frustrating! If you go the SD Game Fish and Parks HSOforum you can find a list of places that sell licenses, grouped by town. They also have some information on the spring hunt.
Most of the trucks you will see will have Minnesota plates. In one area last year it seemed that every stinking flock of snows was being circled and glassed by at least 2 or 3 trucks - all from Minnesota.

The license costs $45 and all you need is a driver license. Look for the schells in souix falls off minnesota road thell have them. There in! Go there and ye shall find some richous hunting! South east dakota geese every where.

Sadly I don't have anything of my own to report. But, waterfowler.com has a forum that's good, you can check some reports there. Hope to bang some birds soon!
