rollz2002
As you can see I want to put my HDS onto my fourwheeler. I am planning on using a ram mount but I am wondering if I can use the same power cord from my boat and hook it up to my battery on my fourwheeler. dfeste
I'd probably put an inline fuse between the two if there isn't one there already but yes that would work. Might make things even easier if you ordered a second power cord and just tucked it into the counsel on the wheeler when not in use. Regardless, it's the same 12v connection. PerchJerker
I agree, a 2nd power cord is a good idea so you don't need to mess around with your boat installation, and for sure put in an in-line fuse .... and bring some extra fuses with you just to be sure ..... gonehunting
A person could also use a cigarette lighter style connection for easy on/off. You would be able to use the accessory port for other things when not using the HDS.
Crappyfisherman
Lowrance makes a cig. plug power cord for the HDS. It is kind of long and around $30.00 I think. If you get one don't cut the wires to shorten them.It has a surge protecter built in so you don't need a fuse.I also got a 110 to 12 volt power converter that I just plug in the wall and then plug the cig. lighter plug into so I can play with my HDS in the house.Don't do that much anymore, but it sure helped when I first got one over the winter. When boat season came I was good to go before I even had it on the boat.
Hawg
Those portable plastic units like a Genz box that house a 12 volt battery. Portable, work everywhere(car-home-fishhouse-wheeler), and pretty simple.
CaptainMusky
I have a ram mount on the handlebar of my wheeler and use the cigarette style adapter cord versus a traditional power cord from the boat.I had an accessory plug already on my wheeler so this was an easy option.
