Is it the best thanksgiving movie? By far! I think it's also one of the better buddy comedies and could one of the finest performances by both Steve Martin and John Candy. Movie is also full of memorable quotes! This movie is always a must watch for me on thanksgiving weekend, and perfect setup for all the upcoming christmas movies

If you like Planes, Trains and Automobiles then check out Due Date. Almost just as funny with the same "buddy" type seriousness.

Epic movie, and the car rental scene is probably my favorite. Definitely didn't help the movies family friendliness though.

It's a movie I know I can keep watching 25 more years! Due Date was funny, but I have no desire to see it a 2nd time. Planes, trains, and automobiles is a classic that never gets old. Martin's scene with the rental agent is pure movie gold!

Yes, Planes Trains and automobiles is a classic. I love that movie, almost everything with John Candy is great.

The scene with the car on fire and getting pulled over "Sir do you think this car is safe to be on the road?" John Candy "Yes, yes officer I do" and that bit he says about with everything else the radio still works LOL

Funny enough, I was just talking to my friend about that. Our speedometer has melted and as a result it's very hard to see with any degree of accuracy exactly how fast we were going.
