New Lazer Pro Strikemaster Questions

Majestic

Question

Hey guys, Just picked up a new Lazer Pro. I'm wondering what's the best way to break this thing in proper.

I would like to run some synthetics like Amsoil in it. Should I break it in with synthetics or break it in with normal oil then switch over? What rates should I do this at? Which rates should I run it at after that?

Looking for some folks with experience running this beast.

Well, it's not rocket science. Every thread that starts with your question has the same end result -- you'll get varying responses that essentially say "run it like 50:1 for a while then back off to 80:1 or some guys go to 100:1". You'll have slightly different opinions on what the break-in ratio should be, and different opinions on what the final ratio should be, and in the end it won't make much difference because 2 cycle engines are pretty much just impossible to break and nobody really puts THAT many hours on these things anyway smile

So, I'll start. Throw a regular 50;1 mix of sabre, run a tank or two (some guys run a tank with no auger bit attached, just let the thing run on a bucket or something so that it's spinning freely). After 1-2 tanks at 50:1 you should be able to back off to 80:1 or so. That's what I did anyway.

Right on, I've broken in plenty of augers so I know the jist of it. I was more curious on using the synthetics during the break in process on a Strikemaster because they recommend not using synthetics with their augers.
