White Bass

Can anyone point me in the direction of places to get white bass in this state? I know they are in the St. Louis, Mississippi and MN Rivers. I have only caught one in my life, but would like to catch some more. Are there other lakes/resevoirs somewhat near the Metro that hold these fish? Thanks guys!

St. Croix River is loaded with them. Pool 4 of the Mississippi has a bunch to. Find schools of baitfish that are on the surface. Gulls will be diving for them and white bass will be underneath. This was in the summer though.

Not saying they aren't, but I have never heard of a White Bass coming out of the St. Louis River (I'm assuming you're talking about the one in Duluth) and I live here. That would be cool if there was a decent population as they are a riot to catch on light tackle.

Yeah, the big rivers are your best bet. If you can get down to faribault in april, they have pretty good runs on the cannon river below the dams, although they are mostly small. The end of april/1st of may they run on the st. croix and you can get some dandies. The william o'brien area is a good place to start. Vermilion river can be pretty good also (mostly in the spring), and you can catch some big bonus crappies also.
