Blind Lake Rd OHV users, and others...

Recommended Posts

Another season comes to a close - never a good thing. Many days afield with friends and family though, with plenty of good memories even though we didn't drop any deer this year.

Would like to make an open statement to all who use OHV's while deer hunting, especially the guys who ride the power line from their double-wide on the Blind Lake Road north of Pine River: Quit breaking the law by riding your toys outside the legal hours. Since you all acquired that place what, almost 25 years ago?, you continue to disrupt the hunt for those of us who park appropriately and walk as much as possible. Glad you found that new country out to the east by Stewart Lake - just remember to get up early to make your journey since it is farther away than the land you used to hunt. Your actions are rude and inconsiderate, and although I can't do much about it would sure appreciate a more cooperative attitude from you regarding our laws and simple hunting etiquette.

I know the CO stopped by your camp this past weekend - he said mine was the second complaint he received about you this weekend, and I can only hope and trust you take his words as the law. Ethical conduct from hunters - all of us - is absolutely necessary for us to continue to enjoy the experience. We have wonderful deer country, and all I ask is that you play by the same rules we all do. That's all, and it's really not that much to ask. Treat others the way you wish to be treated yourself.

County land - I am well aware of OHV use on private property. Complete and utter disregard for the law and ethical behavior as hunters. Makes a guy want to puke in their gas tanks.

Yup, then I don't blame you. Even the land that we hunt occasionally (private) we restrict our use to the published times in the regs, and almost never during 'lunch hour.'

We have called to complain on public property before, but were told unless they were caught in the act by LE, there was nothing that could be done. Puking in gas tanks would probably help... smile
