Hi from Charlevoix! Hope all is well? Could not find a deer hunting forum for MI? Very slow hunt here, I have 120 acres of woods and 2 acres for turnips. Lots of small bucks and 4 shooters before season. Now deer are only moving at night. Had a monster 7pt shot on my property line last night and will send pictures if I get info about other deer info on this site.

Well I am glad your area had some success. As always in the Western UP it was not difficult to see deer, plus I had 4-5 different bucks in my cross-hairs but never pulled the trigger. Overall from what I have heard it was an average season, though I did hear deer numbers were up from the UP going south over the bridge. I hunted pretty hard for 4 days, now I am in SE Wisc chasing some thru the Kettle Moraine forest and farm fields.

Me and my buddy both got to punch our ticket i shot a 1.5 yr old 4 pt and my buddy got a 2.5 4pt, we saw deer all day and they were chasing. Its so wierd to have the little bucks breeding but they were all rutted up and making scrapes and rubs. Usually we get skunked this is my first buck i have taken in the UP since my very first back in 97.

hopefully the deer dont all migrate away, but if there is a bad winter im sure most of them will leave

Good job CrewJones. I just checked in up north and they got about 13 inches of snow today.

root cellar posted pix of the first sleds in front of the restaurant . Now they just need to wait till JAN 1 for the trails to open.

ken, I heard a little in Bergland Bay, but wide open yet all over. I will keep you posted.
