HOOKS & SPOONS FOR PERCH & CRAPPIE?

I was wondering what hooks or spoons people use for crappie and perch, like what kind of hook/spoons you use for minnows and different ways to hook minnows on them. Or plain hooks that could be used with like wax worms or larvas.

Could you make the sizing of your post any more obvious? LOL...

I now use strickly tungsten for jigs, otherwise your basic panfish size Northland tackle frostee spoons and lindy rattlin flyers.

As far as plastics Northland impulse and Berkley gulp alive fry. I recently gotten into the micro nuggies too but havent gotten to really use them yet.

Go fancy or just get a couple little frostee jigs and some maggots and go for it. I like to use a couple gulp maggots and a live one for some extra flavor.

For jigs, I like small ones that hang horizontally and I hook the minnow in the mouth. Not a huge fan of vertical jigs and hooking minnows through the back. I feel like it sometimes makes for a bit too big of meal and horizontal jigs with a little minnow offer an easier to swallow offering. I usually fish dink crappies too, so maybe that helps. I'm just making little scenarios though, I know for a fact both catch fish. Hook your minnows according to the jig.

Glow Red Ratlin Flyer treble hook with either waxies or minnow head has been my best crappie jig last couple of years. I fish in about 28' and also always have a 2nd hole with a bobber set, plain pink hook with a minnow suspended about 10-15' up from the bottom. Seems like I will catch more fish jigging but always pick up a few on the bobber set each time too. Ratlin Flyer may seem to be a little big but most fish I catch are 11" or bigger. Did catch my PB last year 2.5 lbs 15.5" and that came on the bobber set!
