ROCK PILES IN WEST BATTLE LAKE MN

Fished it hundreds of times, forget the rocks that I've never really seen either, go fish where the tullibee's are or follow Hammernick,Thomas,Hoppe and all the other guides out there lol. They love that lake big time and shoot tons of video out there after labor day. They're sick of mille lacs, it's waves, invasives, etc. They have shifted to Battle,DL, and Pelican. Or should we call it western MN like they do, unless they get a wild vermillion hair in them. I wish I could tell you the run, the route you should fish over and over like those guides do, I was doing it years before they even had a boat, now they look at me like I'm horning in on their turf lol. Fish where the tullibee's are and where they spawn and keep at it. That info is easily found.

I haven't been on WB this year but I know the accesses are extremely shallow this time of year so bring your waders. We fished Miltona last weekend and the water temp was 46 and they had already removed the docks at the launch.

I don't really know of any big rock piles out there either, theres plenty of shoreline breaks and midlake structure. My guess is that the fish will be out over the 20-30ft sand flats and off the steeper breaks depening on the water temps and whether ot not the ciscos are spawning.

Don't be too afraid to troll some sharp breaks either for awhile like an hour or 2, not the dumbest thing to do out there at this time of the year, most will soak a sucker and the other guy or 2 tossing cisco looking bulldawgs, medussa's, etc. With water temps where they are bankers hours could be your best bet also, and watch out for flying lead if rifle is open. I wish I could tell you the 1/4 mile stretch where I'd focus 99% of my effort but it took me 23 years to figure out before musky madness hit the State.
