cyote/ coon hunting?

Recommended Posts

lately ive been hearing alot of howling and yipping at night and was wondering whats the best approach to hunt prarie cyotes? where i live there are steep hills and flat fields.. is it best to drive around and look for them or sit on a hill and call? also whats the best weather for them?

i was coon hunting in a barn with some friends chased them around, ran out of .22 ammo one grabbed a pipe and dispatched the critter trying to knaw on him and the descussion if killing a coon with a club or pipe was legal? the regs are kind of unclear on that

i've seen a guy go after one with a 5 gallon pail... it worked...

As far as hunting yotes... calling is what we mostly do. It works, but seems to really depend on your location and how educated they get... if they hear something once and have a negative experience with it, they will never do that again... like being called and crossing human scent, or busting you... or likewise... if you can, Locate early morning and hunt sun up, or hunt full moons with snow is the best.
