Trailer Wiring ???

Recommended Posts

I have a tandem axle utility trailer that Im rebuilding and I purchased all new LED lights for with 7 way plug Trailer has electric brakes (don't know if they work yet) I got 4 amber clearance lights 2 red clearance lights and 2 tail lights and a rear light bar for the center the question I have should I wire the front amber clearance lights as turn signals or just use the tail lights alone. Thanks Ryan

There is a way to wire the clearance lights so that they are on all the time and then blink opposite of the turn signals, just like a gm side marker bulb.

Like this?

Man, my apple works skills are mad.... whistle

Pin 87 of the relay is not used... basically the relay will interrupt the circuit when the blinker is activated, causing the side marker to wig wag with the turn signals.

Don't need a relay, but now that I really think about it you can't do it on a trailer since the turn and brake are on the same circuit. So what I am sayin is you would have to use a relay if you wanted to do it on a trailer......it's been a long day!
