Sorgy
Guy's,Any luck with the Federal Fusion loads? I have shot the Remington Core Lockt bullets in the past and had fair luck but quite a bit of bullet break up in the corelockt bullets. I have shot them in 300 Savage 180 grain and 7mm08 140 grain loads. Thinking of the Fusions. Any other recommended loads for the 7mm 08?ThanksSteve
DooWap
I've shot the Fusions for the past few years and have had really good luck with them. They shot great groups out of my 7mm and have had good terminal performance.
NoWiser
I didn't have much luck with the Fusions out of my 270 WSM. While they killed the deer just fine, they left too big of a mess for my taste. I imagine they would work pretty well at a bit slower velocities, though.Personally, I'm a big fan of Barnes. There is no question I would try their 120 grain ttsx if I had a 7mm-08. They retain their weight so you don't need a heavy bullet. That would be a deadly deer load if it shoots well out of your rifle.
MinDak Hunter
My wife shoots Fusions out of her .25-06 and I really like 'em... It seems like the bullet holds together much better than the Federal Premium 165 grain that I shoot out of my .30-06. I'll be switching ammo when I get rid of the boxes of Premium. Comstock
I would suggest Winchester Super X power point in a 140g too. About $25/box and out of the Saavage model 14 i have they have proven to be very accurate and great stopping power on deerJ
