fivebucks
Best to do them before they go bad is what I found out with my trailer. I was too late but now I have myself a new axle.
Capt. H (Ret.)
I do mine every fall so they are ready to go in the spring. I have bearing buddies but prefer to have the bearings packed by hand before I put the boat away.Mike
Rick G
Like fivebucks said "it's best to do them before they go bad" this is great advice I would do them asap if you suspect something might not be right, it's a pretty easy job to inspect and repack the bearings. raymondk
always do them in fall not spring if you have any water at all while it sits for 5 months you will have problems..if you use good quality water proof grease and use your boat a lot any water will not do any damage until it sits in one spot for a long period of time .I have had boat trailers for over 30 years and have yet to replace any bearings or races.
