hookjunior
My daughter has a 4th generation ipod touch she dropped it over the weekend and cracked the screen. I've been looking online and can find them pretty cheap on a couple popular sites. I'm just wondering if anybody has replaced one before and can recommend a good place to get one. I want to make sure I get a good one.
CAMAN
My buddy uses iFixit. They sell parts and also has step by step instructions for all repairs.
hookjunior
Thanks Caman, anybody else ever bought a screen?
delcecchi
I bought one for a nuvi gps. I haven't installed it yet. I still need to find appropriate double sticky tape. And hone up my soldering skills since it requires soldering a flex cable to another piece of flex.

GatorBait
1st thing. Go and buy a Griffin Technology Survivor Case for it. It'll be the best $40 you ever spent. I learned this, as my 3yr old thought it'd be fun to see if they bounce off the sidewalk. I ended up sending mine to missionrepair, they worked well with me, quoted a possible 140 to 250 depending on internal damages. It ended up costing only $85 which gave me a new screen, they remolded the casing and did some fixing to both cameras. So, in the end, they had the chance to soak me as I gave them the go ahead for up to 140. Pretty trustworthy if you ask me, and it works like the day I bought it. bobbymalone
I did the battery on a iphone, which is a lot worse than just the screen. Screen is like 3 steps. battery is like 15 more steps after you get the screen off.The screen is pretty easy. I'd never pay somebody to do that. The battery... yeah, it's not exactly fun. Lots and lots of tiny tiny screws.
