frozen tomatoes

last week when they were predicting a freeze I didn't believe the weatherman...anyway I woke up to everyting in my garden froze..I ended up with tomatoes and peppers in various stages of ripeness..can a person still eat these..the tomatoes seem to be ripening..they don't look like the fruit actually got froze just the plant?

Yeah, I would say as long as there aren't any spoiled or soft spots from the frost, they're fine. Had some plants here that were covered but not quite well enough perhaps and the plants got zapped anyway. Have eaten several of the tomatoes and I don't feel any different than I normally do. Haven't tried the peppers yet but there's a Full Moon tomorrow night so we'll see. smile

Put them in the food processer and make one big batch of Salsa! wink

Yes.....I pick those green and partially ripe ones and let them ripen in the basement.They don't need light to ripen.Put them on newspaper and cover with nespaper and peak every day for ripe ones.They don't taste as good as vine ripened but still good.
