Humminbird ?

I am looking to borrow a buddy's bigger boat this weekend. He has an older 897C unti but i have a newer 997C with better maps, can i simply swap them out for the weekend?

I'm not sure. Go to HBird HSOforum and look up the specs on each of those, if they take the same transducer, power cord, and GPS, you should be good to go!!!

I'd like to think you could just plop yours in the ram mount and go, but i have an 898cSI and no experience with the 7 versions.

Yes you can if it is the same mount. I asked Humminbird about this earlier in the season. I have a 798ci and it will work on my buddies boat in place of his. I think his is a 400TX, or something like that. Of course my side imaging won't work, but the transducer, gps and maps do
