Using the LX7 in the boat

Does anyone know of an adapter to use it in the boat? I have a bracket for an old portable Hummingbird but that transducer is more of a U shape. Anyone have any crafty ideas they want to share?

Get the open water kit for the 7....

I agree with the open water kit. I've been in the dark ages (saving for high-tech later) and only have my VX-1 on the boat. I really like it since I trust the readings so much more than a cheapo graph. Gets a little confusing distinguishing weeds from fish though

Where can I get a open water kit? I looked on Marcum's site and didn't find anything for the 7.

Call Marcum as they don't have it listed but the LX-5 version should work as the ice ducers are the same connections...

I did call Marcum and the High Speed one for the LX5 will work on the 7. He did say they were going to be coming out with a dual cone high speed transducer but it wouldn't be until next year. I am going to check out Capra's and see if they have one after work. Thanks guys.

Well no one had them in stock so I called Marcum and I should have one by noon Thur. Thanks Chris! Now my problem is I went to plug in my charger to the battery and had no light on the charger. A couple seconds later I see smoke billowing from the charging cord and now it is toast. I unplugged it as fast as I could for fear I would ruin the LX7. It did power up and seems fine. Guess I will be calling Chris tomorrow. Anyone have this happen to them?
