Snowmobile or ATV for ice fishing?

I will post the question as i did in the ATV forum. Up til now i have fished from permanent shelters. I am looking to be more mobile. what are the benefits and drawbacks of each. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.

I thought same thing, and this year I bought some used snowmobiles. I can tell you if I had an ATV I would be happier, easy to load/unload if you don't have a sled trailer, you can run on dry ground and use it in summertime, more payload and verstility.

Go ATV, that's my suggestion (in fact I will buy one too this spring).

Unfortunatly, I would say that it depends on the type of winter we have. The last few years the wheelers have been better. If we had a "normal" winter, the sleds would work better. If you fish lakes that have a lot of roads plowed, then the wheeler would make due for any winter. Fishing aside, my opinion is, sleds are way more fun. That is, when we have snow!!!!! And that's a mighty big "WHEN"! I'd go wheeler.

My vote is a wheeler, some will float longer then snowmobiles (LOL). I have a snowmobile but I would also like the 4 wheeler.
