Dr. Bob
Do any of you knowledgeable folks know why Polaris puts a cable brake system on the Wide Track sled and hydraulic brakes on all the rest?
Ely Lake Expert
Bob, That is news to me. I have 4 polaris's and none of them have cable systems. I don't know what to tell you other than that is kinda odd that they would change.Ely lake expert
Dr. Bob
It's just on the Widetracks. I just bought a 1993 model :-) and the book shows it is the only model that has it. I looked on the web site for Polaris and the new Widetracks also have a cable brake system.I am really curious to know why - Hopefully someone here can tell us.Thanks,Dr. Bob
Biggestfish
I am sure there is a cost savings, but I think the main reason would be is that it is not needed. The Widetrack was made to putt around, drive out to the fishhouse, maybe haul a little wood back to the cabin. Polaris never intended for someone to go blazing down a trail at 50mph on a Widetrack, Polaris makes many other machines with Hyd brakes for trail blazing. I wish you good luck with your Polaris.------------------Just having Fun.Love to Fish.
Dr. Bob
Thanks -That makes sence. Your right, it's not made for racing! It's not bad on the trails though and what and utlimate fishing sled! I'm in my glory :-).Dr. Bob------------------Crank the Shank!
