Whoknows
Why cant I seem to find one on store shelves? I've checked all the big retailers with no luck. Anybody know something I don't?Thanks
huntnfish
I've noticed that also and finally spotted one on the shelves at Cabelas. There was a tag on it that said you were required to have an FFL to purchase. I haven't done any checking into why you would need that but I'm assuming it has something to do with the changeable barrels.
carpshooterdeluxe
Correct on the barrel interchangeability being the reason for requiring sale through an FFL.
Whoknows
Thanks guys. I'm still a little confused on the FFL requirement. Does that mean I have to have a licence to buy or does the retailer? Why would it be any different than buying a rifle from Gander? Thanks again,
carpshooterdeluxe
Regular muzzleloaders can be bought without the need to fill out the paperwork and get the background check. Encores are purchased like regular fire arms, meaning if you're buying new, you have to buy it through an FFL and do the forms and check. You can always buy a used one face to face if you prefer the gubberment not know your bizness.
Dave S
I was in GM in Mankato a couple months back looking at an O/U. Told the guy behind the counter I was considering selling my T/C G2 Contender and he said that T/C wasn't selling rifles for the time being due to safety concerns of the guns. If I remember right it was something to do with barrels blowing up.I haven't been able to find anything to prove his claims nor has there been anything mailed by T/C in regards to safety concerns or recalls.
