Boar
Ok heres the deal I just got a insulated 2x2 6' tall cooler with all the shelving an its stainless. I stripped out all the cooling aperatus stuff n non needed things. I recieve an old cabelas smoker from the forum an i took the burner an venting wheeles an door handel, an flame valve, igniter control panel from it. Now my main question is the burner pipe is to short to go thru the insulated wall of the smoker build to the vaive control panel thats gona be mounted on the side, cause it came from a smoker with non insulated walls , just a thin steel sheeting. So unless I can afix some sort of extension to the burner pipe so i can center the burner in floor of the new smoker, would that effect product? Hope I'm clear any help would be great. corncob
You can mount the burner off center and install a diffusion plate to direct the heat toward the center of the unit with a smoke wood container over the diffusion plate.....The chimney then should be put on the opposite side of the burner with air intake on the lower burner side to draw the heat and smoke across. corncob
Diffusion plate, meaning a flat steel sheet that covers above the burner across that side of the smoker....Say 6 or 8 inches above the burner,1/8 thick , as wide as the smoker and deep enuff to fully be over the burner surface, preventing the heat from rising until it is drawn toward the middle of the smoker by the chimney air draw , thus evening the heat flow across the smoker width. MuleShack
If you could put up a picture of the burner, one could see if there is a way to extend the pipe.Either take off original one and replace or cut and joint a new piece on to it.Shouldn't be that hard, depending on what it looks like and what kind of pipe it is. corncob
Extending the pipe should be doable....The right multi skilled welder should be able to help you out.
